This set and its minifigure selection shares certain similarities with 76178 Daily Bugle, although the Spider-Man set contains many more new and long-awaited characters. Instead, I find the minifigures available here more akin to those in 10188 Death Star and 75159 Death Star, as much of the main cast is included, but there is relatively little to excite more seasoned Marvel Super Heroes collectors.
The truncated bonnet definitely appears reminiscent of City vehicles and the simple radiator structure looks excellent. Furthermore, I like the angular bumper which seems realistic, even though Luis' van should include a bullbar. The medium nougat stripe looks rather bright when compared with the original van but I think this shade is more appropriate than dark orange, for example.Thor is another character who appeared in 76248 The Avengers Quinjet earlier this year, but this minifigure's hair piece has been unexpectedly updated. I think the wavy element used on this occasion works well, although the change was not essential, in my opinion. Otherwise, the Asgardian's attire remains the same and his torso looks good, but printed legs would be ideal. The legs are undecorated though, which is noticeable given the complexity of detail elsewhere on these minifigures. Moreover, they have now appeared several times, so the decorated legs would have been re-used. Despite the potential for improvement, the Chitauri are an excellent addition to the minifigure selection and two are equipped with their advanced weapons. Thanos appears delightfully silly when imprisoned, barely squeezing inside the modest prison cell. There are alternative uses for this space which may have been more appropriate, notably including the time machine, but I am satisfied with this prison. After all, the time machine would have needed significant scaling down and could potentially appear at a realistic size in a future set.

However, the dark red and metallic silver decoration is unique, appearing more accurate to the onscreen character. Of course, a standard minifigure would have been wonderful too, although six different heroes are already provided. If we receive high volumes of applications, we will sift only on thelead behaviour of “Changing & Improving”.
On the other hand, the minifigure is brilliantly executed. The head bears a definite resemblance to Kevin Feige and the printed cap is bound to prove popular, featuring the Avengers logo. Also, civilians are always a useful presence in Super Heroes sets and Kevin could easily double as a generic character, endangered by the various villains included!
