For a person who needs music in her life just as much as we need air to breathe, this book was a must read for me. None of these characters end the book feeling totally okay, but they ended this book just a little better, and there’s something rather valuable. boy band members, when the real world around teenagers can seem so hostile and full of injustice and suffering. It’s kind of funny how much this quote resonates with me even though I’m an adult in every sense of the word. My favourite aspect of IWBFT, my favourite aspect of all of Alice's books, was the depth of her characters who I unsurprisingly love with all my heart.

If you are an extreme fan then someone else can feel caged in the spotlight and be not able to be themselves as well of the stage.

Let life surprise you, let your enthusiasm and curiosity guide you into discovering that you are so much more than you thought you were. The love they all have for each other is so pure and whole, and the gentleness in the way they interact - soft touches, gentle words - just makes me feel so warm inside.I would still recommend this with my entire heart, and I feel like if you have been a part of “boy band culture” you will relate even more than I did.

At countless moments in the novel, the fans are said to truly love “the boys”, or “our boys”, that they “would take a bullet for them”, “do anything for them”. But as long as we are here, the three of us, and we get to make music, and we get to live this life – playing our music in a new city every week, bringing smiles to millions of faces, leaving our mark upon the world – then everything is good, and fine, and okay.
