I suppose it could work in a Duncan Thickett kind of way, not sure how that could be stretched beyond 10 or 15 minutes though. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Authored by Steve Coogan, Rob Gibbons, and Neil Gibbons, this book showcases Partridge’s unwavering self-belief amidst a perpetually faltering existence. Luckily, I had completely forgot about the internal speaker of my iPhone 11 Pro Max, so I was able to listen to Big Beacon seven times in a row before being rescued by the regional snow clearing service. If this were my first Alan Partridge experience, I might likely be more effusive in praise for this book.

From what I remember I think originally he thought Baynham and Iannucci would be much more involved in the entire project and as they'd always sort of flown by the seat of their pants and it turned out great he thought it would be fine. His debut poetry collection, "Neon Ghosts" (2020), and subsequent works like "Belisama" (2021) and "Echoes" (2022) demonstrate his creative prowess. I also think he'd just finished filming Philomena and then was straight to filming Alpha Papa so he was a bit frazzled himself.Instead it ambles along on an unsatisfying middle ground, with awkward attempts to subvert big screen clichés, but without seeming exactly sure what those are.

So many laugh out loud moments, you know why you are here, reading these aren't going to stop you enjoying Partridge's peerless production. For the books, the Gibbons names appear before Coogans in the credits and on the front cover of the books so my guess would be its the Gibbons doing the bulk of the writing for the books and Coogan has more of a script editor role. In 'Big Beacon', Norwich's favourite son and best broadcaster, Alan Partridge, triumphs against the odds.An amazingly credible addition to the AP universe, and in reality two deserving targets who ultimately couldn't have too many complaints about their portrayal. Maybe a brand new character or even a different genre would reignite the magic that has made Steve so great in the past. Since it’s impossible to read Partridge without hearing his voice in your head, this is a book best enjoyed in audio where, courtesy of Coogan, his pompous pronouncements and warped self-analysis take flight. The second narrative arc confronts his perennial failures, revealing his resilience and guiding light through the darkest of times.
