It's the mClassic doing its job, but it sadly undoes the aesthetic of the game; those pixels are meant to be shown raw. The only thing then left to do was plug in the mClassic's power cable to it and then to one of the hub's USB ports. This little device can make a huge difference or make such a tiny difference you can barely notice it at all, it widely depends on the game you are using it for, I used it for the nintendo switch most of the time. Side-by-sides show very subtle tweaks in colour depth, as well as the added sharpening on character outlines.

However, after checking it out on my Nintendo Switch, Game Cube, and N64 I can definitely say that it does make a difference to improve the video quality of my games. The physical mode toggle on the side makes it a more flexible device in general, while 1440p support is a welcome plus too, especially for PC monitor users. This is not a complete list, but it should give you an idea for how many devices the mClassic can work with.
