About this deal

Midges that bite thrive in damp environments. Regular fly mesh is too large to impede their passage and will only provide minimal resistance. Fly screens, insect screens, and barrier doors can all benefit greatly from the addition of purpose-built midge mesh, which comes in two gauges 20x20 threads per inch and 20x30 per inch for extra protection against smaller midges.

Good quality glass fibre fly screen mesh has a lifespan of up to 15 years. A lower quality mesh may be impacted by being exposed to UV rays which could reduce that life span significantly. Life span is also impacted by wear and tear and also damage. Obviously puncturing the mesh of a fly screen, will reduce it’s effectiveness. Hence the type of fly screen that the mesh is incorporated into also has an impact on life span. A framed fly screen is more prone to damage than a roller fly screen for example. The mesh on roller fly screens only needs to be deployed when the windows or door is open, meaning the mesh is hidden away in the cassette, for a greater proportion of the time, protecting it from damage. We find that roller fly screen have the longest life span compared to other types of fly screens. Our durable retractable fly screens are specially designed to offer excellent UV protection. They'll keep annoying insects outside without sacrificing the incredible views that sash windows provide. On the day of the installation, the two engineers took just shy of three hours to do an impeccable job - they performed the work without any mess and with minor to no disruption to us. This screen is usually fitted on the inside, however, because of the durable powder coating, it can be fitted to external applications also. And – you can do everything you want when your flyscreen is in place. Finally, you can enjoy your windows, the fresh air, and the beautiful sunlight, all in peace.

Our adjustable Fly Screens protect your family, your pets and your belongings - safeguarding the things you love most. Making it your reliable shield against unwanted passage through an open window. See it as the Gandalf (“you shall not pass”) of home fundamentals. Please Note: We can only install a flyscreen in conjunction with a double-glazing installation. We are unable to install a flyscreen as a stand alone project. The screens you fitted are a great help in this hot weather in very hot London. It makes such a difference to be able to open the doors and windows for breeze.” Yes, window screens keep mosquitoes out. They not only keep mosquitoes, flies, and other insects outside, but they also let fresh air circulate inside, allowing you to keep your window open without running the danger of getting bitten. You should be aware that a standard 18x16 fly screen mesh will not keep out smaller insects found in some parts of Scotland, such as midges. For this, you should select a midge screen.

Hinged Door Screens

WARNING: Do not touch the adhesive strip with fingers, and ensure your scissors are clean and sharp. Some people turn to magnetic flyscreens for an easier open and close process. This is a big mistake. These flyscreens are incredibly flimsy. They’ll rip easily, and they don’t exactly make your home feel secure. In fact, you probably won’t want to leave your opened windows unattended when you have a flimsy flyscreen in place. No insect screens do not inhibit airflow. The beauty of insect screens is that they serve to exclude insects and creepy crawlies but allow fresh air to circulate, which is a blessing during those hot and stuffy summer months.
