If you opt for two espresso shots for your beverage, it will pull two authentic espresso shots using a separate grind cycle for each shot. That means you’ll get a double espresso shot using between 13g and 23g of coffee, depending on the coffee intensity you require. Programming This feature gives you the unique possibility to choose how intense the aroma of your drink will be, hence creating drinks tailored to your taste. Simply select the quantity of ground coffee used for a single serving (there are as many as Ristretto, espresso, long espresso, coffee, americano, cappuccino, cappuccino XL, café au lait, café cortado, latte macchiato, latte macchiato XL, flat white, frothed milk and hot water. I wasn't expecting a lot from this machine, to be honest, I thought it was just going to be another entry level 15 bar pressurised portafilter espresso machine. I was wrong! The Anima Deluxe has all of the features of the base level semi-auto anima, but with the cappuccinatore to handle the milk for you instead of the steam wand.

There are five models in the Gaggia Cadorna line – Prestige, Milk, Plus, Barista, and Style. The Gaggia Cadorna Style and Plus models are older. These have the Pannarello steam wand and offer only six drinks options. We will concentrate mainly on comparing the newer models in this section. This is an interesting looking little bean to cup machine from Gaggia, at first glance it resembles something like an air fryer or deep fat fryer than it does a coffee machine ;-). A coffee machine though it certainly is, and a very inexpensive one, too. As discussed at the beginning of this post, when I talk about domestic espresso machines, I'm talking about traditional (usually semi auto, or “pump” machines) espresso machines which are made to be cheaper, and easier to use straight out of the box without developing barista skills. While we’re on the subject of espresso, I should point out that the Cadorna Prestige super automatic employs pre infusion as part of the coffee extraction process. If this Gaggia Cadorna Prestige review has shown me anything it’s that there’s finally a machine to give the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus a run for its money. I have the Magenta Plus. I do really like it. Looks reasonable, smallish footprint, produces nice coffee, great steam power to make microfoam a cinch compared to my old DeLonghi, Americanos are done right, pretty decent amount of customisation on temp, volume and amount of coffee used. Using fresh, clean water makes a huge difference in how your coffee will taste, so I always recommend using a water filter if possible. Fortunately, you can use a Intenza+ water filter in the Cadorna Prestige water reservoir which will cut down on limescale buildup and dramatically improve the quality of your coffee. Preparing Drinks Repeat this process at least three times, but without the extra cleaning tablet. It’s crucial to clean the system from chemicals properly. Gagia Cadorna Milk is the perfect choice for coffee lovers who want to make delicious milk-based coffee in the comfort of their own home. This model features a new one-touch system for milk-based coffee drinks, it automatically froths the milk and gets it ready for your coffee. You don’t have to move the cup or glass from under the coffee spouts, which means – no more splashes!

Semi automatic espresso machines are then split into two categories too, well – three if you also count commercial espresso machines, but we're talking about home coffee machines here.

Most of the Gaggia bean to cup machines have three versions, the standard version, a version with a cappuccinatore frother, and a carafe version. Yeas it's plastic (it's ABS, same stuff Lego is made of) as was the original 80s & 90s Gaggia Espresso, but I really like the look of it, it looks and feels well built. It's made in Italy, and for me that shows, both in the design and in how nicely made it feels. Unfortunately, the Magenta line does not have user profiles. You can save the settings for each drink type, but each time you do, it will overwrite the previous ones. Finally, you can save your preferences to one of the four user profiles by pressing the “heart” button and choosing a color. So, if there are four coffee drinkers in your home, they can each get customized drinks at the touch of a button. It’s so hassle-free that the biggest issue will be deciding who gets which colored heart! Ease Of Use Best is a subjective word, there is no “best” as such, only best for you – so the first thing to ascertain is what kind of machine should you be going for? Semi auto bean to cup with a milk frother, fully automatic one-touch bean to cup machine, home barista espresso machine or domestic espresso machine? Once you've decided on the type of coffee machine, that narrows your choice down in terms of which may be the best Gaggia coffee machine for you if you've decided Gaggia is the brand you want to invest in. Where to buy Gaggia coffee machines? If you use the cappuccinatore, it'll deliver exactly the same milk texture as the carafe system. If you want better milk texture than is possible via auto frothers, you can just slide the cappuccinatore off and use the pipe underneath as a steam wand. This coffee machine does not have the option to automatically make milk based beverages GAGGIA MAGENTA MILK

It's more advanced where milk is concerned than most bean to cup machines, giving you not an either-or scenario (either the control of a steam wand or the convenience of a one-touch carafe) but the best of both worlds, and both systems are really good, the auto steam clean after each one touch milk cycle is great, the steam wand is really easy to use & the fact that there's a purge button on the screen is great, and that you're prompted to purge after steaming with the wand. Still, I’m fairly convinced that just about anyone could take a deep breath and proceed to get a halfway decent cup of coffee out of the Gaggia Cadorna Prestige without opening the user manual. The Cadorna Milk attaches to the milk carafe via a tube, and froth reaches your cup through a spout. However, there are not as many drinks options. For example, you can’t make cortado, flat white, or the XL versions of cappuccino and latte macchiato.
