About this deal

However, the author has a distant relationship with Klopp and has not interviewed either the man himself or his players, and only very few of his colleagues. In this book from the highly acclaimed Little People, BIG DREAMS series, discover the incredible life of Jürgen Klopp, the game-changing football manager and inspirational leader.

Klopp has an easy turn of phrase and a disarming eloquence, with Neveling pulling quotes from various sources. Little Jurgen grew up in a village in Germany’s Black Forest and spent most of his time watching or playing football. I think we're all a bit in love with Juergen Klopp, and this extended love letter to the man who has brought honesty, fun, realism, and context back to English football is a great read. My personal view of Klopp is that he is a likeable, competent manager who escapes close scrutiny compared to other characters who have had similar results.

the opening five chapters is where this story really shines offering a window into Klopps early life and hihglighting his most important influences. Most of the statements or part's of statements are from other people who are more or less close to Klopp. As a small child, Jurgen listened to matches on the car radio, making tactical suggestions only to hear them implemented moments later! He is the co-author of the football tactics book The Anatomy of the Modern Game, a graduate in business administration and is currently writing a doctoral thesis on sport economics.Jürgen successfully managed German teams Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund to multiple victories, and then became the manager of Liverpool Football Club. Whilst not in his own words this book is an interesting insight into Klopp and gives you a good overview of his career prior to joining Liverpool. Taking in all the drama of LFC’s disrupted, but ultimately triumphant, 2019–20 season, it offers unique insight into one of football’s most charismatic figures. The Attacking analysis has been used to produce 16 sessions (75 practices) including functional practices, patterns of play, possession games, transition games, opposed/unopposed zone play, game situations and small sided games. Vielleicht ist auch deswegen die Begeisterung in England für den deutschen Trainer so groß: Schließlich brachte er den Verein wieder zurück in die Erfolgsspur.A book published in Germany in 2011 Echte Liebe ( Real Love) brought Klopp’s achievements with Borussia Dortmund into some kind of focus, but landed between back-to-back Bundesliga titles. As a fan of Liverpool football club, it was interesting to see how Klopp has managed other clubs before Liverpool. In between times, Quinn plays tribute to other great Liverpool managers like Bob Paisley and Kenny Dalglish and superb players such as Dalglish (again), Kevin Keegan and Steven Gerrard.

A typical football book, easy to read, easy to follow the story line, a story about a football manager will excite you or not, for me, as a football fan, I really enjoyed this book, the book provided me with everything I anticipated, the only negative I can think, is that the book is written, whilst Jurgen Klopp is still active as a football manager, so it is not a complete career story, I prefer books written about footballers, and football manager once they have completed their careers so you get the whole story. I learnt a lot less about his time in Germany than I expected, and nor was there a lot of entertainment. Although this book obviously includes an awful lot of soccer, club and match related history and information (which, again, I'm not really interested in), I really enjoyed this book and found it very interesting. The architect of the club’s great resurgence – including their 2019 Uefa Champions League win – has been Jurgen Klopp. Klopp is revered as a master tactician with his own unique playing philosophies like counter pressing and spatial geometry.

I am interested, though, in Juergen Klopp the Man because of his (so far) amazing track record in taking on down-and-out clubs and improving them, without that success making him conceited or arrogant. Jurgen is widely considered football’s best manager and is admired for his leadership style, which champions hard work, compassion and, above all, team spirit! For football addicts, this book would have been fascinating because there were so many mentions of players and historical football tournaments the author made reference to. He is loved by his players for his passion and mana-management skills, and adored by fans for his charm, wit and exciting football on the pitch. Author of The Blue Pencil, Liberating Belsen, two Families at War and The Summer of '39, all published by Sacristy Press.
