About this deal

It has an “eco” program that uses less energy and time – it bakes a white loaf or bread mix in 85 minutes – and it comes with a glossy book containing a wealth of foodie recipes. of different Programs: 12 Jam Function: With Jam Function Power Interruption Protect: With Power Interruption Protect Other Height: 31 cm Width: 34. Then, don't use more than a tea spoon of sugar because too much sugar can make the yeast produce a huge airbubble inside the dough, producing bad results. We do find there are lacks in the instruction/recipe booklet, which doesn't seem to have many recipes for ordinary bread (the white loaf has egg in it, and the wholemeal seeds).

I rate this above the Panasonic breadmakers, and it really does do a nice loaf of white bread in 58 minutes. I wasn’t able to get it produce a decent wholemeal loaf however, so look elsewhere if you need more fibre in your bread. If they used stainless steel they wouldn't rot but then Kenwood wouldn't be able to sell so many replacement pans. The rapid white loaf works well with a good shape and colour but the programme is quite long for a quick programme at 2.Model numbers usually consist of a manner of letters and numbers, and may also include characters such as a slash (/) or a dash (-). Features include the aforementioned “eco” program and a gluten-free program, plus programs for breads, cakes, doughs and jams. In addition, the booklet has not made clear to us the distinction between rapid bake and quick loaf.

The machine wasn't supplied with adequate program chart of the procedures it does and at which time and for how long. Big on flavour and simple to make, this delicious soda bread makes a nice change from sandwiches come lunch time. Well, not really) It's now in a lower level pull-out drawer (about 2 feet from floor level) in a cabinet that has a socket in it. Overall a nice little machine that makes nice bread that lasts around 3 days if put in a plastic bag, so well worth it.Having read all the reviews on the Kenwood 250 breadmaker I am beginning to wonder if we are all talking about the same machine. There are big buttons to select the recipe, crust darkness and the size of loaf you want to bake, as well as plus and minus keys to set the baking delay for when you want to prepare a loaf the night before and have it fresh in the morning. The standard recipes are simple enough; they require skimmed milk powder, but this is easy to get hold of and cheap. I’ve had seven years of noisy clanking sounds, mixer paddles getting stuck in the loaf, bread not rising.

Mine has produced excellent bread, no problems with the pan moving, indeed I have trouble in removing it. I have had a Prima and a Breville bread makers before many years ago and gave up with them as I was unhappy with the results. Also haven't quite got to grips with the 1 hour fast bake as the books recipe is for a 1kg loaf but the fast bake puts it on 750g so the bread needs 'finishing off' in the oven. Programmes: basic, wholewheat, sweet, French, packet mix, gluten free, dough, pasta dough, cake, jam.

I can't see that I have repositioned the pan differently to the previous occasions but it just went through what seems to be the final stage of kneading without it popping out so, fingers crossed, but, and it's a shame, it now seems to me that leaving it to run without supervision is taking a "bit" of a chance. If it seems too hard to follow then just compare it with the bread dough you'd make manually and find out the right liquid-flour ratio. I can recommend this bread machine to all - I make bread every 3 or 4 days and every time I have success.

The rolls gave me the best of both worlds - the machine kneaded them whilst I got on with other cooking, and then I knocked them back and shaped them. The combination of black metal, stainless steel and glass, gives the BM450 a distinctive stylish look. There's also a rapid bake function to cook the bread in less than one hour, although does require warm water, extra yeast and less salt. This concern grew to grave disapointment after my first attempt at making a loaf turned out rubbish (a brick - didn't rise). These recipes cannot be correct- adding together the weight of water and flour gives a total weight of more than the final weight of the loaf.
