About this deal

Tiernan de Haas doesn’t care about anything anymore. The only child of a film producer and his starlet wife, she’s grown up with wealth and privilege but not love or guidance. And when her parents suddenly pass away, she knows she should be devastated. But she’s always been alone, hasn’t she? literally everything in this book was a mess. First before i get into the romance abuse lets me say one thing. All the three men in this book are related to the mc in some way and form. Jake is her uncle and a decade older than terry. Noah and Kaleb were her cousins. Kaleb takes my leg, bringing my foot up to rest on his knee as he washes me. Running the cloth up my thigh, he dips inside, close but not there, and I moan” 💦🔥

When the world feels small, nothing can hurt you. “But then you realize you’re the only one who fits there in that small world, and being alone feels worse than not feeling safe.” I have to mention A particular scene here almost in the middle of the book. It's a very physical scenario, senses start to tingle which triggers a mindbending kiss. But What is a scorching, Panty incinerating scene suddednly stops, Turns, Flips and nose dives straight into the abysmal depths of git wrenching emotions. Lust dissolves into tears, moans turn to sobs and I'm all agog at Pen's talent & magnitude of sentiments of the scene before me... !!! 👏👏👏 Like a steam train driving into the depths of anyone’s soul, Credence is definitely not a quiet book that will lie on any shelf too long. Compelling, and at times sublime writing, carries the overarching themes of trauma, abandonment, loss, into a sea of Deliverance-like waves that could potentially crush an idle unsuspecting reader. Naturally, on the other side, we find ourselves beached in love, loyalty, connection, and home. I recommend a disclaimer of sorts. In many ways, it feels and sinks in ‘otherworldly’ and certainly, not being small town – mountain reared North American, I felt a little out of my tribe at times. But the tribe is bright and clear on the peak it is set facing. Now, with Falling Away, I just said screw it. Even though BULLY was my favorite to write, because I was free of fear with that one, Falling Away is my favorite book. I will read every review, because no one can tell me anything that will make me feel bad about this story. I am who I am, I write how I write, and I'm proud of myself, no matter what anyone says ;)

There's a plot-line about Kaleb possibly getting an OW pregnant. As if this dumpster fire of a book wasn't bad enough. this book has the shittiest plot since den of vipers. i don’t even know what to say. seriously, can somebody honestly show me a plot?because all i see is this girl going to live in the mountains for a month with her uncle and cousins and idk about you but that seems like a pretty normal occurrence in everyday life so i’m not really sure what the big deal is. her parents have died too or whatever but i don’t count that as a plotline because it just isn’t. anyway, so tiernan isn’t very good with people and tALkiNg because of how her parents ignored her all the time when they were alive, so it’s a big deal for her to go live in the snowy cabin with her uncle and cousins (who thank god aren’t related by blood by the way), and can you guess what happens? hint: it’s a penelope douglas book. Her step uncle makes a pass at her in the kitchen and again she actually enjoys it but he stops.....she's disappointed! It’s strange. The tire swing in the yard is the only thing that makes it look like a kid lives here. There were never any drawings in the house. None on the fridge or walls. No children’s books on the shelves. No shoes by the front door or floaties in the pool. personally, i don't like sharing because im selfish and i just don't believe a super-duper alpha, possessive type of H would even be down for sharing/threesome, but honestly, this book is really good. the writing, plot, the setting, character development (NOT romantic development)? A+. and this book was H-O-T, HOT. no joke. P. Douglas is so good with creating tension and writing steamy scenes so kudos to her.We were forced together and shit happened. My only wrong-step was falling in love with one of them. ” PS: I know that possessiveness and exclusivity surfaced somehow but …too late for me, the damage was done. I HATE sharing in books. I need exclusivity. I can’t stand love or lust triangle either, even less quadrangle or anything you want to name. I hear Mirai sniffle and sob quietly behind me, because she knows. She knows what I’m feeling, because she’s been here since the beginning. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a nice little family drama story. It gets off the charts hot and steamy. I give it five flames out of five 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 for the sexy times and the romance. The characters are completely awesome, each in their own way. I would pay cash money to be snowed in for six months with those three guys. So would most of the girls in the nearest town!

The steamy scenes in this book are one of the most erotic and intense I’ve ever read. One of it (the threesome with the boys) honestly was really disorienting for me because there were a lot of motions going on. Obviously if it were up to me I wouldn’t let the smut get this far (Tiernan having sex with all the Van der Bergs). However, considering the nature of this book, extreme as it may be, I think it’s also fitting. Not to mention, I appreciate the author being so free with her words and painting something that most see as negative to be liberating and empowering. Zoe. remember he is a horrible person he emotionally abuses her, sexually many times too, he wants and does hurt her many times these are small spurts of niceness don't like him we hate him" Be part of our book reading community with BBS yearly & LRQ quarterly reading challenges, SRx1x3x3 monthly group reads & #ShhPolls. And then this mf sons Kaleb is a walking glowing red flag. He is the worst. when he first met Terry he literally r*ped her. I really like her though. There was very little I disliked about Tiernan and truth be told, all of the characters. They all made sense despite, and even in-spite of their individual trauma narratives. There was very little that didn’t add up or make sense or was unreasonable…..except – I don’t believe forgiveness or even love are more powerful than abuse. Power is fluid of course, and Credence did everything in its own to remind its reader of this – but at times I felt it ran risks that I think are fundamentally questionable. (Again – from Coastal Australia not Mountainous secluded North America.) What a journey it is. Beautiful, peaceful, savage, barbaric, raw and probably most importantly honest. Hence, I found this to be a really conflicting read that I think I might ponder for a few days – so well done Penelope Douglas. Tiernan’s narrative voice and awareness is on point at times, but at others, that of a 40 or 45 year old who has had the benefit of hindsight to digest why things are and what experiences mean in the grand scheme. At other times, she is right where she should be, innocent, unclear, and figuring it out in all of its awkward beauty. Sir you were there when he was hitting her and i didnt see you stopping him. Stop with the feminist act we see through your shit. TW: *Sexual Assault, death of a parent, emotional manipulating, assault* there will be mentions of these in my review. There are a few small things I didn’t like about the book, but I won’t go into them because that would be giving things away. Despite those small things I really enjoyed this book. I loved the relationship between Tiernan and each of the guys. She had a different type of relationship with each of them which she really needed and they become a family.

I’d thought the tire swing was for me when he installed it ten years ago. I was allowed to play on it, but my mother was the one who really loved it. I used to watch them out my bedroom window late at night, my father pushing her and the magic of their play and laughter making me want to be in the middle of it. But I knew as soon as they saw me the magic would change. It would disappear. Out of all of the books, BULLY was my favorite to write. It was easier before I knew how I would be critiqued, before I lost some of my freedom due to fear of what people would say. It was more a labor of love and a journey or discovery (sounds cheesy, I know), but with BULLY I had freedom and such a love for Jared and Tate as my firsts.

The characters in this book are an absolute treat to read. You feel for them despite their undesirable traits and inexcusable behaviors. It’s beautiful seeing Tiernan’s transformation from someone who’s always lonely, empty, and not used to having people care about her into someone who grows to appreciate, trust, and love the people around her. You can say it’s misogynistic or whatever, but I have no problem with the Van der Bergs being possessive and protective of Tiernan. Three of them, one of her, and a remote cabin in the woods. Let the hot, winter nights ensue in this steamy dark romance from New York Times bestselling author Penelope Douglas, now with bonus material. Pen is also partial to Bad boy Assholes, a weakness of taboo forbidden trope readers. Jake, Noah & Kaleb are bursting with unharnessed sexuality, at logger heads most of the time, scattered and nursing broken hearts at all times. A triumvirate of pulse pounding magnetism and in walks in Tiernan.
