About this deal

Better still, some have controls on the speaker itself, or even a remote control, so they can be used as standalone music players. The downside of that is that one or two of them seemed so self-contained that they refused to respond to any volume adjustments and so on from the mobile phone or tablet. Even at maximum volume the Muvo 2 sounds composed, not at all “shouty” or harsh, and the bass radiator does not distort. This can sometimes happen when the driver hasn’t been designed properly and the diaphragm ends up moving too far.

So would I recommend this Creative Muvo Go Bluetooth speaker? Yes I would. Even my wife approves of it. She said that it was really easy for her to pair up with her phone and she is not that tech savvy. If she can do it, I’m sure it would be easy for anyone else too. Plus, it sounds good. Good enough that it is subtle, yet immersive. My personal opinion, it is my go to speaker when I’m relaxing in my mancave. The Creative Stage Air V2 is considered as a soundbar, so that is not within the same class as the Creative Muvo Go. That soundbar is attached to my SmartTV and it’s wonderful. The most forward-looking speakers have NFC (Near Field Communication) Bluetooth technology, which typically means that you can have the music player (phone, tablet or laptop) up to 10m away from the speaker. This speaker delivers clear and balanced sound, creating an immersive listening experience. It is equipped with powerful drivers, ensuring accurate and detailed audio reproduction. No doubt that there are other good Bluetooth speakers out there from within this class. But in terms of affordability and durability, the Creative Muvo Go would be a better choice for me. I can say that I worry less with this one. I am not afraid to place it near a body of water or hang it on a tree. This is one sturdy speaker if you ask me.

You could argue the Creative Muvo 2C tries to do a little too much for its own good. Sure enough, this isn’t the best choice for someone who struggles to get the basics of their phone working. However, for those with a bit of tech confidence this is one of the best tiny, low-cost speakers around. The MUVO Play is a bulbous shape and size similar to the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom speaker—but at half their price. I can’t say if it sounds as good because I don’t have a Wonderboom speaker to compare. However, even if the MUVO Play’s style is derivative, it’s a nicely designed speaker that looks more expensive than it is. It’s round shape and speaker placements provide almost 360° audio. The Creative Muvo 2c uses the classic driver array for a small Bluetooth speaker. There are two little active drivers across its front, and a passive radiator in-between powered by the output of those drivers. Also, let’s not forget the Muvo 2 is slimmer than the majority of “bar” shape speakers. This alone might explain why the bass is neutral-sounding rather than the big bouncy stuff you get with some Bluetooth speakers. Verdict Like some of the other pretty decent portable Bluetooth speakers we tested, this unit sounds really great until you put it next to one of the top-end modelsfrom Pure, Denon, Speedlink or Edifier. In reality, it’s going to be fine for most of us,most of the time. The MUVO Play features a built-in rechargeable battery, allowing users to enjoy their music on the go without the need for a power source. It also offers wireless connectivity, enabling easy pairing with compatible devices via Bluetooth. Unlike most small speakers with a single drive unit, it doesn’t become “shouty” or more harsh, and the passive radiator only distorts in extreme situations. Single passive radiators are prone to a sort of farting noise as they strain against their limit if not engineered properly. The Creative Muvo 2C doesn’t do this, no matter how hard the radiator is worked. The Creative Muvo Go weighs about 570g. It feels really solid when holding it in one hand. There are two speakers inside the speaker grille facing forward. And there are two more “bassy” speakers located on each side of the speaker body facing outward left and right. Together, they can produce symphonic sound that you can never expect from a Bluetooth speaker like this. Having said that, the Creative Muvo Go is also waterproofed with IPX7 certification. This would be a perfect outdoor Bluetooth speaker to have around when you’re out camping or on a picnic by the river. The potability of the Creative Muvo Go is just perfect for me. The size is not too big and it is not too small either. You can place it on a flat surface horizontally or vertically, whichever way you prefer. Or you can always hang it somewhere, thanks to the detachable shoestring lanyard.
