The things that Cooper said and did in this book, HAVE MERCY! I never imagined those words tumbling out of his mouth, but I. WAS. LOVING. EVERY. SECOND. OF. IT! The spice in this book was another level from a little public fun at a certain beach while in Paris to other things Cooper and Addie got up to, the chemistry and sexual tension in this book was chef’s kiss! You're seriously saying that when I can literally feel you trembling with my every touch," he smirked darkly and claimed my lips for a painful kiss.

From friends to foes to lovers, this standalone book is one of the best books I’ve read so far this year, and it’s definitely Hannah’s best book yet in terms of description, depth of character, and the little things that add so much warmth [ Hello Hades] and all. the things that really make you love book. I’m so proud of her and thankful that she wrote a character that looks just like me because you don’t see that often. Please read this book, best friends. You will not regret it. Five of the most twinkling stars for Miss Hannah Cowan and her writing. This book was one of my most anticipated reads of 2023 and it’s safe to say that it did not disappoint. It gave everything it was supposed to give and more. I was screaming, crying, throwing up, laughing, jumping up and down with excitement. It gave me all the feels, heart palpitations and all the butterflies, every thing wrapped up in this one awesome book. Childhood friends to strangers to lovers is one of my guilty pleasures and Hannah has done it SO SO right. I ATE this up. Read the whole thing in 2 sittings and it wasn’t 1 only because I had to sleep. Maddox and Braxton and their story is so beautifully portrayed, the angst and the frustration of separation of 8 years and then seeing the subtle ways they kept each other alive in their lives even after everything that went down had my heart. I loved every thing about this book and will recommend it to anyone and everyone. Please go read it, that’s all I’m gonna say because I think I found myself a new comfort read. Even in, “Her Greatest Mistake”, Adalyn had always talked about wanting to travel to Europe so, finally getting to see her do it was great, and with Cooper alongside her it made it even more intriguing for me to read! A big part of this story revolved around Adalyn and Cooper traveling a lot so, it was a nice change of pace compared to them being in their hometown or familiar areas. In a way, while reading it gave me glimpses into all the different places Addie and Cooper traveled to. I would say this book definitely hit the spot to read during the summer time, but you could honestly read it whenever you want. I admit that it took me a little while to get used to the narration style, which is mainly Eve “talking to” Gregg as she recaps the events that led up to her current situation. It’s an unusual style I’m not usually fond of, but as the story progressed I found that it was befitting this tale of power and abuse and helped to explore the dynamics that drive these characters. Once I got into the story, it carried me with it like a runaway train, depositing me firmly into the midst of troubled minds – that of the abuser and the victim. Fascinating? Yes. Disturbing? Definitely! Some passages evoked an almost visceral response of anger and disgust that made me want do away with Gregg myself. It always reflects the skill of a writer to be able to kindle such sparks in the minds of her readers!

As soon as I started this one I knew I was going to end up having issues with it, not the story inside although I’m sure it is an obvious trigger warning for some. Instead it was the style in which the author writes that I wasn’t a fan of. I knew right away this one was on the wordy/overly descriptive side that I find a bit tedious to wade through although I’m sure others would love it more than the more straight forward style I prefer. The drama level was low. And I’d get pleasantly surprised by the *chefs kiss* communication in this book too. Really, There Wasn’t Anything About This Fluffy, Steamy Book To Dislike. I Am Very Forward To Read The Remaining Novels In This Series.

Braxton is a plus-size queen, and I found myself connecting with her in a thousand different ways, even smaller ways like buttoning your shirt so you don’t bare skin when some would think the plot is so small . She struggles with her image but one thing Maddox does is affirm that she is beautiful, talented, passionate and loves with her big heart because he never saw the size of her body, only her. And this truth about him is undeniable, together with his mouth (iykyk). Cooper and Adalyn are two souls that were meant for each other. I loved the sweet moments between them, the skate park and all the beautiful moments between them on the trip had my soul melting. Plus all the smutty scenes😮‍💨😮‍💨 Once again Queen Hannah did not disappoint. I’ll forever recommend Hannah’s books to everyone and their mother. I’m super excited for the next book. The little snippets we got have me so hyped!
