Alcohol (ORGANIC), Algae (ORGANIC) Extract, Aloe Barbadensis (ORGANIC) Leaf Extract, Cucumis Sativus (ORGANIC Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Fragaria Vesca (ORGANIC Strawberry) Fruit Extract, Glycerin (ORGANIC), VA/Butyl Maleate/Isobornyl Acrylate Copolymer, Water When it comes to SPF, which indicates how much protection a product offers against UVB rays (note: not UVA rays), it’s best to look for a formula that offers SPF 30 or higher. “An SPF of 15 filters about 93% of UVB rays, while an SPF of 30 filters out approximately 97%,” explains Halim. On the other hand, an SPF of 50 filters out approximately 98%, though a recent study by EWG claims that SPF products above 50 aren’t necessarily any more effective. That said, choosing a sunscreen with an SPF in the 30 to 50 range is best. The COOLA Makeup Setting Spray is such a lifesaver if you need easy reapplication of sunscreen over makeup. When I’m out and about with a face of makeup on and need to be reapplying sunscreen every 2 hours I don’t want to ruin all my makeup by rubbing in sunscreen. I spray about 5 times all over my face while keeping my eyes closed (very important as it’ll burn your eyes) and voila I stay protected for a few more hours. The cons of the COOLA Makeup Sunscreen Spray are that it’s not a mineral sunscreen and contains a lot of alcohol. The scent of alcohol is very strong and you need to be careful it doesn’t get in your eyes.

This sunscreen makes our skin look glowy and healthy, and it absorbs instantaneously with very minimal blending. It has a lightweight but creamy texture, so it can even double as your AM moisturizer. We also love that it contains a multitude of skin-benefiting ingredients, like avocado oil, jojoba oil, and carrot juice. We did notice that it might become too shiny throughout the day for those who already have oily skin, but it leaves a healthy, dewy finish nonetheless. COOLA’s Rosilliance is another favorite for mineral tinted sunscreens if you’re looking for something a little luxurious. A “nice glow” is how testers described the finish. I personally found that I loved how it made my skin look–fresh, bright and even more awake, with no white cast at all—and that it continued to feel great 2-plus hours later. I never expected a sunscreen to give my skin such a boost, and it was a very pleasant bonus. Alcohol (ORGANIC), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (ORGANIC), Algae Extract (ORGANIC), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (ORGANIC ) Orange Fruit Water, Cucumis Sativus (ORGANIC) Cucumber Fruit Extract, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Diisopropyl Adipate, Ethyl Ferulate, Flavor, Glycerin (ORGANIC), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Juniperus Communis Callus Extract, Paeonia Lactiflora Leaf Cell Extract, Phoenix Dactilyfera (Date) Leaf Cell Extract, PVP, Silica Silylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Water COOLA Sunscreen Sprays use chemical UV filters + 70% organic ingredients. I was sent their body sunscreens to try out and found the COOLA sunscreen sprays particularly useful during my island vacation trips as I had to protect my entire body plus reapply every few hours or after swimming. Love the deliciously tropical Guava Mango scent. If you’re not avoiding chemical UV filters, I have nothing else bad to say about the COOLA body sunscreen sprays. Excellent even spray mist, excellent protection and excellent smell. Because they are chemical, the COOLA sunscreen sprays go on clear.

The Coola sunscreen goes on smoothly, much like a thin face lotion, and it doesn’t take a lot of ... [+] rubbing for it to sink in. Elyse Moody For Forbes Weightless Texture Another great COOLA tinted face sunscreen, the Rosilliance BB Cream is a sheer lightweight tinted moisturizer that comes in three shades. The light/medium shade is a tad too dark but because it’s so sheer it just makes me look tan. The COOLA Rosilliance BB cream gives my skin a dewy finish while providing very light coverage. It’s perfect if you want your skin to look like yours while your minor blemishes are blurred. The Rosilliance cream also uses physical UV filter titanium dioxide to provide UV protection. COOLA is a clean sunscreen brand that uses at least 70% certified organic ingredients with a Farm to Face approach. COOLA is widely sold at ULTA stores and has a large array of both mineral and chemical sunscreens in fragrance free and scented options to suit all preferences. While COOLA does use a very high percentage of organic ingredients, one thing to note is many of their products use chemical UV filters. But, COOLA’s luxe and high performance products are undoubtedly convenient and very easily accessible thanks to ULTA. If you’re not sure you’ll like a product, you can always head over to your nearest ULTA store and try out their tester products. I’m sharing the best and worst COOLA sunscreen products in this COOLA review.

I applied 3 pumps for top half of leg & 3 for the bottom. The COOLA sunless tan gives it an immediate subtle tan glow and in two hours it deepens to a real looking tan. The COOLA sunless tan serum completely absorbs and doesn’t stain onto bed sheets even if you get sweaty at night like me. You can use it daily to build the tan. One use lasts 2-3 days as it fades though this will likely depend on factors like if you exfoliate etc. COOLA Sunless Tan Dry Oil Mist Before and After

Californian brand COOLA is passionate about creating beautiful product experiences that embody a happy, healthy lifestyle. Believing that clean beauty should feel as good as it is healthy, they’re on a mission to develop organic products that not only deliver noticeable results, but are a pleasure to use every single day. Brand HistoryI treated the COOLA Sunless Tan Luminizing Body Serum and loved it! It’s 70% organic, Ecocert Ceritifed & 99% natural. The Sunless Tan serum contains pearlescent mica for a sunlit golden shimmer, & sugar-beet derived DHA for that post-vacation radiance- with a pina colada scent. COOLA Sun Silk Creme is a full 360 degree spectrum product that protects against the sun, blue light, infrared, and pollution. I prefer the Sun Silk Cream over the Sun Silk Drops. The Coola Sun Silk Creme feels more like a moisturizing lotion, dries matte and uses non-nano Zinc Oxide instead of their usual Avobenzone/Homosalate/Octosalate. Major plus! It does have some white cast so I can’t see the Sun Silk Creme working for darker skin tones.

None of our testers reported a white cast with the Coola Classic Face Organic Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50. Even our bearded tester found that it disappeared without leaving any visible or chalky residue behind. Is Coola Sunscreen Nontoxic? The Mineral Liplux Tinted Lip Balms are buttery smooth and feel nourishing with plenty of butters like organic cupuaçu butter and mongongo oil.

After applying, we noticed that the sunscreen was able to hydrate and create a smoother base for makeup, acting as a moisturizer and a primer. It’s also oil-free, so it shouldn’t leave you greasy—but we noticed that it did leave a slight sheen on already oily skin types. Still, we’re giving this sunscreen top honors for its overall lightweight feel, high SPF protection, and clean formula. I love that the Rose Stem Cells and Organic oils of acai berry, rice bran, sunflower & safflower seed smooth & moisturize my skin throughout the day. Some other great factors: When we first applied this product, we were pleasantly surprised at how seamless it is—it almost felt like we didn’t have sunscreen on at all. It has a smooth texture that spreads easily (almost like a liquid foundation) and is hydrating without becoming greasy. It doesn’t settle into fine lines or accentuate wrinkles, making it the perfect base for the rest of your makeup. The only thing that we could complain about is that the dewiness does fade throughout the day and would have to be reapplied if you’re using it for makeup coverage. But as we know, sunscreen should be applied multiple times throughout the day, so we still love this formula nonetheless. I have yet to see another clean spf hair mist, so the COOLA Scalp & Hair Mist might be the only one available. If you’ve ever gotten a sunburn on your hairline you know that it can be a nuisance. I’m all for protecting the scalp and hair from damaging UV rays if at all possible. I’m not a chemist but I imagine it would be difficult to create a 100% mineral hair mist without adding some kind of chemical UV filter bevause the spray would go on white and weigh down hair. I prefer the Skinny Dip and Nude Beach shades because they don’t contain petroleum derived lake dyes. The other shades do contain them to achieve the color.
