Unlike previous modulars, which have mostly been Commercial buildings and businesses, the Boutique Hotel oozes class, charm and also a bit of quirkiness. An interesting comment by designer Anderson Grubb, in the press release – “It was really exciting to be working on the LEGO Boutique Hotel and to have the opportunity to design this in celebration of 15 years of the collection. When we approach the design for a modular building we are conscious of the previous sets and therefore want to create something that is new, that really compliments the collection. I am really happy with the final design, the variety of intriguing building techniques and all the nods to the previous Modular buildings.” Quite an interesting design and choice. I can see that it bears some resemblance to Cafe Corner. For a 15th anniversary, I was expecting something larger (like Assembly Square) or something meta (like a modular Lego store or Lego factory, a building that contains miniatures of other buildings; something unique and fan service-y). I hope that maybe we’ll still yet be surprised by a re-release or special set. Nonetheless, this looks to be quite a fun and detailed build and is going straight on the wishlist! Say hello to one of the most anticipated sets of the new year – 10297 Boutique Hotel, the 2022 Modular Building! Celebrating 15 years of LEGO’s highly esteemed Creator Expert Modular Building series, this set is a delightful celebration of many modular buildings that come before it! I do not think any completely new parts (unique moulds) were introduced with this set, but I immediately noticed the large number of new parts in the historically rare 283 Light Nougat Light Flesh color — you will find a complete list of parts in that color below. (I haven’t tried to highlight all the other parts that are available for the first time in other colors.) Includes 7 minifigures – Characters include a hotel porter, receptionist, coffee vendor and gallery owner among the collection of hotel guests and staff Celebrating 15 years of LEGO® Modular Buildings – Many adult LEGO builders will appreciate all the fun references to previous modular builds. Try to spot them all The set also features a unique angled shape, which requires some unusual LEGO geometry, providing a new modular building experience for collectors.

As for the model itself, I’m really excited to start building it. The asymmetrical composition, diverse color palette, and gorgeous palm tree makes for an inviting model to explore and build. Even the color palette is quite compelling, with 151 Sand Green, and even a large selection of parts in the extremely rare 283 Light Nougat Light Flesh color.

I expected Bag 12 to start with the walls, but first we build an elegant bathtub. This is followed by an overstuffed Leather chair (which uses nice SNOT techniques), and a very large bed with 107 Bright Bluish Green Dark Turquoise / Teal bedspread and a chocolate bar in the middle. Very fitting for a 15th anniversary model, and a perfect way to pay homage to previous sets, while still being a truly original design.Představte si, že trávíte čas v luxusním hotelu.
