About this deal

The building was moved from its Front Street location to the mill property on July 22, 1965, and the Salem City Council waived the usual moving fee to permit the Mission Mill Museum Corp to move the Jason Lee House to the mill property. The company headquarters are in Portland, Oregon. The original mills in Pendleton, Oregon, and Washougal, Washington, are among the few woolen mills in operation in the United States today, and Pendleton woolen fabrics and blankets are still woven in these Pacific Northwest mills. Mills eventually left for his mission, flying passengers held in cryogenic stasis. During the mission, he received video calls from Nevine, who first told him how she was doing well, before suddenly falling into a more severe stage of her illness, making her angry and bitter at Mills for not being there for her, although she still said that she loved him. Then, still in the midst of the expedition, Nevine died from her illness, Alya sending the news to Mills and trying to assure him that she peacefully passed away.

The company began to expand their product line into other woolen textile products and later into apparel. In 1912 the company opened a weaving mill in Washougal, Washington (across the Columbia River from Portland) for the production of woolen fabrics used in suits and other clothing. million years ago, Mills lived on the planet Somaris somewhere in the Milky Way. He was a deep space pilot who would routinely fly to and from the various planets colonized by his species, also being trained in combat and survival. He eventually married a woman named Alya, who bore him a daughter named Nevine. Mills and Nevine built a very close bond, despite Mills having to constantly leave for trips to space, although they were usually for short periods of time. Then, Nevine developed a terminal illness, and Mills didn't have the funds to pay for her treatment. At Alya's urging, Mills decided to accept a role as the pilot of an expedition that would give him enough money to pay for Nevine's treatment, but the mission would go through deeper, uncharted regions of space, and thus would separate Mills from his family for two years. Mills told Nevine about the mission when he and Alya went to a beach with her, where Mills also tried to teach Nevine a way to whistle.
