The mapping is fairly simple (certainly not as detailed as the Garmin Edge 520 Plus) but covers everything well, and you get a turn-by-turn navigation. You need to create a route using Lezyne’s own software for that, and, generally speaking, it’s not as intuitive as the Garmin or Wahoo interface. If you want a colour screen, take a look at Lezyne’s Mega C computer, which is also smaller (but has less battery life). For a Super or Macro GPS, hold down the 'Enter' and 'Lap' buttons on the device while connecting it to the computer. For a Micro or Mini GPS, hold down the 'Enter' and 'Menu' buttons while connecting them. The computer immediately recognizes the GPS devices and immediately performs a firmware update.

Below, I share my experience with Lezyne Super Pro GPS. I’ve been using it for a few weeks. Display For the tech nerds out there obsessed with data and training the Super Pro pairs with ANT+ and Bluetooth accessories. Power meters, heart-rate monitors, cadence sensors etc. are all compatible with the new Super Pro. Bottom LinePairs with Bluetooth Smart or ANT+ enabled heart rate monitors, cadence/speed sensors and power meters The Polar V650 GPS is a full color touchscreen bike computer that isn't damaging to your budget. You get navigation mapping with TOPO maps meaning real lay-of-the-land detail with your routing overlaid. It also means easy access to maps wherever you go.

Although it’s relatively small (only 2-inch), it can fit up to 8 data fields. But, of course, they are much smaller than on larger head units, causing a little worse readability. Another neat option is the ability to set the unit in landscape or portrait mode; I liked landscape, which makes a bit better use of screen area. This bike computer is an awesome GPS enabled cycling computer with innovative smartphone integration. Its compact and rugged design makes it well suited to use on a variety of bikes. The price is phenomenal and it changes our expectations of cycling computers in this price range. Navigation at this price range was unheard of before the release of the Super GPS. With every new product cycle, we are more and more impressed with Lezyne; we can't wait to see what comes next. Garmin beware, a new player has arrived. Other Versions and Accessories GPS Root also includes a route builder. You place waypoints, which the app then links up. Again, it’s adequate rather than great and I found it sometimes linked waypoints via non-intuitive routes, rather than those I preferred or offered alternatives that weren’t rideable on a road bike. A basic cycling computer gathers a range of info about your ride, including speed (and your max speed), distance and time to your destination, and more scenic data such as the time the sun set during your ride.

Obviously, everyone who reads this will have to take it with a grain of salt because it’s coming directly from us, but there seems to be some confusion about the navigation and mapping features of the devices so here goes: Lezyne Super Pro GPS comes only with ANT+ and Bluetooth connectivity, unlike most modern bike computers that also feature Wi-Fi.

Each button on the Edge 520 Plus has a dedicated function. We found the multifunction buttons of the Super GPS to be a bit less intuitive than the Garmin Edge 520 design. Pushing the wrong button or not getting the desired result was a more frequent occurrence with the Super GPS. In addition, the lap button on the Super GPS is on the left side — both the Edge 520 Plus and Edge 830 position the lap button on the lower edge of the housing, making them easier to access, particularly at the end of a hard interval. Despite these gripes, the Super GPS button layout is functional and gets the job done, it just takes a bit of getting used to. The Lezyne Super Pro GPS weighs 60 grams and its battery life is around 28 hours, while it will record up to 400 hours of riding data, so there’s plenty of capacity to keep you riding as long as you like. The completely redesigned Super Pro GPS cycling computer is an excellent choice for all riders looking for a full-featured, mid-sized device. If when you try plugging in the device, the computer isn't recognizing it, you might need to connect it in bootloader mode. It's different button combos for the Mini/Micro devices and Super/Macro devices. I bought a used Super Pro GPS that was used for about a year. The previous owner didn’t reset it to the factory settings, so I had to delete the activities and adjust the settings.

The combination of the larger mount and deeper unit means that the Super Pro GPS sits quite high off the bars and looks a bit chunky. It looks a bit better with a forward mount, which positions the computer in front of the bars. That’s something that you can buy separately or as part of Lezyne’s Loaded bundle, which also includes a heart rate monitor and cadence sensor. LEZYNE SUPER PRO GPS review: features When a Lezyne GPS freezes you can shut down the device by pressing 'Menu' and 'Enter' for 30 seconds. We call this a 'Hard Reset'. If this happens while driving, you will unfortunately lose all your recorded trip data.Battery life on the Super Pro has been great. I have done somewhere in the realm of eight to ten rides without recharging it. Compared to a much more expensive model from a competitor who shall remain nameless (cough, cough), the Super Pro outperforms it by a solid eight to ten rides. You also won’t be able to view the map directly on your device – I honestly don’t think it would be an enjoyable experience. So, this makes it smartphone-dependent. Looking at the GPS traces on Strava, there’s a bit of drift from the line of the road, particularly on wooded routes, but it’s no worse than with many other GPS units. Strava segments can be seen in the Lezyne Ally V2 application and can be enabled or disabled depending on user preference. The segments work in the same manner with both Garmin and Lezyne devices, but Lezyne gives you more control over segments, where Garmin loads your starred segments, as well as Strava, selected segments based on location. We prefer the Lezyne format as it allows more user control. ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart The downside is limited app support for routing, with it done on a computer and uploaded – but this does support Strava. What it doesn't support is ANT+, as this is Bluetooth only, which could be a deal breaker for those who have already invested in certain sensors. The Flow app has some great data layouts for looking at your progress and updates are regular.
