Description

Kill Team Gallowfall is a pleasing – if somewhat safe and unoriginal – new chapter in the ongoing Kill Team saga. It ascribes to the tried-and-tested formula of Kill Team releases we’ve seen over the past year, with one team of brand-new models and another of existing models partnered with an original upgrade sprue. Happily, the new Chaos Beastmen models are superb, and the new Leagues of Votann miniatures still look great – all the better for their fun upgrade sprue. Hearthkyn Field Medic, a standard medic, with a ⅗ damage pistol, and 4 inches of movement. Important in a shootout, and great for holding utility equipment. The medic sports a free plasma knife, and performs well in melee with ⅗ damage. Especially in comparison to its peers on other teams. The models, however, are very nice. The Chaos Beastmen are a really weird and yet super pleasing kit that makes some spectacular models. They are expressive, menacing, and add another note in the book of Really Good 40K Chaos Releases From The Last Year Or So. The Leagues of Votann models, whilst not new figures, are built out of a very customisable sprue, and the augmentations with the upgrades make a huge difference too. There’s a lot of ways to personalise these guys, which will appeal to painters and players the world over.

Components to build specialists like an Ironhorn, Deathknell, Fluxbray, Shaman, and a fearsome Vandal [1] Fellgor Warrior - The basic warrior, armed with an autopistol and cleaver or bludgeon, will rarely be taken over the other operatives. Unless you value the shorter range of their pistols over the purely melee warrior specialists.Hearthkyn Lugger, mission do-er, equipment shuffler, and general ranged operative. The lugger brings along 50% more equipment and can even shuffle weapon loadouts on his allies (perhaps I can interest you in a new Gunner?). On missions where you need to do mission actions, his discount will be invaluable. Another model with the Warrior gun loadouts. You’ll need a copy of the Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team Core Book to make full use of this supplement. Though she eventually claimed the artifact from an asteroid base, Rehnis never made it home. Her ship – and the entire Cadian 15th Kasrkin Regiment aboard it – was lost in the warp, and after thousands of years adrift it eventually came to settle within the space hulk’s mass.

I actually managed to get mine painted up – here they are in my Doom 2016/Doom Eternal Doomslayer-inspired colours. The warsphere was driven off, but many Kroot kinbands were left behind, and these Farstalkers hunted the Navis Breacher Teams mercilessly – though it was not the first time the avian xenos had drawn the Imperium towards the Gallowdark . Millennia before, Kroot mercenaries had provided intel of a strange, obsidian device to Inquisitor Rehnis of the Ordo Xenos, who’d hoped to prove the existence of a strange, skeletal alien race she believed once ruled vast swathes of the cosmos. Fellgor Deathknell - The Deathhnell is a great support operative. They already have a slightly better save than the rest of the herd, but by using the Gong Knell unique action, they gain a 3+ invulnerable save. They also count as having 1AP higher for objective control and they lower all critical hits to nearby Fellgor's to normal hits. However, the regular buyers of Kill Team releases will be groaning at yet another set of the same walls they’ve seen in previous boxes, as well as a copy-pasted gaming board. Whilst both are of utmost quality, a little something new wouldn’t have gone amiss in either department. Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team: Gallowfall Review – Introduction Few knew quite how much damage the impact of the prison ship had done, yet the Dyad of Zaffre had lanced into the Gallowdark like the tip of a spear. Though miniscule by comparison to the full mass of the space hulk, it smashed its way through the remains of many former voidcraft, leaving power cells, fusion reactors, and warp drives ruptured by its passing. As one sudden detonation triggered another, a cascading torrent of destruction ripped through the Gallowdark and dealt it a mortal wound.

As I’ve mentioned, the basic Hearthkyn Warriors kit has plenty of options already. Together with the new upgrade sprue, you can choose between very many different types of operatives. (11 in total). For whatever reason, however, even in Kill Team you cannot give regular Hearthkyn Warriors pistols and melee weapons, even though the kit is full of them. Kill Team Gallowfall is the final expansion for the Kill Team Into the Dark roadmap. It follows the same format as the previous Kill Team expansions introducing 2 brand new kill teams, the Leagues of Votann Hearthkyn Salvagers and the Chaos Beastmen Fellgor Ravagers. There is also a new kill zone that builds upon the close confines of the space hulk Gallowdark, Killzone: Gallowfall. There’s only one book in the Gallowfall set – as is custom with these boxes. This is the… Kill Team: Gallowfall War Manual

Hearthkyn Kinlynk, comms buffer, and operative delayer. The Kinlynk functions similarly to the transpectral operative from the Pathfinders. They can have any visible operative go as the last operative of your opponents team, while also gifting APL to friendlies within six inches. Another model with the Warrior gun loadouts. And what’s more, the upgrade sprue that comes with these guys ensures that even if you own a unit or regular Hearthkyn Warriors, you’re unlikely to build the same model twice. This set contains 20 miniatures – 10 all-new beastly gentlemen of the Fellgor Ravagers, and 10 Hearthkyn with a generous upgrade sprue to make all sorts of deadly specialists. In addition to all this, there’s also an absolute heap of obstacles and ground clutter for you to use – including medical stations and equipment, stasis pods, and drop pods.pieces of Killzone: Gallowfall terrain: New pieces of detailed, modular terrain to expand your killzone, specially designed to suit the missions found in Kill Team: Gallowfall – including Escape Pods, Autopsy Tables, Surgical Chairs, Stasis Pods, Medical Supply Table, and Iron Lungs. [1]

They’re all also pretty easy to put together, following a fairly similar pattern each time. There are also a host of extra trinkets – pouches, grenades and so-on – that you can add if you so wish. The 2 new kill teams are both great and good to see them making an appearance in Kill Team. The Fellgor's are going to be incredible for converting and using options from both 40K and Age of Sigmar. The new scenery rules are tied into the missions themselves, but there's nothing stopping you from using those rules when playing your own games. I've had a blast with the Into the Dark season and will be sad to see the end of it. The close confines of the Hulks are perfect for the special operative nature of Kill Team, but I'm looking forward to seeing what's next. Should I Buy Kill Team Gallowfall? There is, however, a mistake in the guide. The first beastman you’re instructed to build tells you to use component 23. This is wrong – you want component 2. Terrain
