Max's great talent was that he could punch lines, which was absolutely great for us. We'd give him songs with very short lines and he'd punch them out marvellously. Give him a long line and he would stumble over it, although I just flipped when I was given 'Gilly Gilly Ossenfeffer Katzenellen Bogen by the Sea'. I thought, 'Fabulous, fabulous, this is a major hit for us.' I took it to Max and his wife, Blossom, said, 'That's no good, what does it mean?'... The song was absolutely perfect for Max and its whole secret was 'What the hell does it mean?" [7]

And when I see the four, I think of the four evangelists who preached the Gospel: there was Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The song was featured in the TV series "M*A*S*H" in the episode titled "The Interview" (Season 4, Episode 24). Bill Anderson released his version in January 1991 and it reached number 60 on the country chart. Because the United States was involved in the Gulf War at the time, Anderson's version modified the lyrics to have the soldier's story take place there, instead of World War II setting. George Morgan was credited for the updated lyrics. Eight: The people God saved during the Great Flood: Noah, his wife, their three sons and their wives. It has been pointed out many times that the spots on the cards actually count up to only 364, not the 365 claimed. T. Texas Tyler's rendition went to number 2 on the US country chart in 1948. A version by Tex Ritter later in the year reached number 10 on the same chart. Phil Harris also recorded a version in 1948 for RCA Victor.

Despite the extravagant drama and some demonstrations of the savagery meted out to India's street children, this is a cheerfully undemanding and unreflective film with a vision of India that, if not touristy exactly, is certainly an outsider's view; it depends for its full enjoyment on not being taken too seriously. Six: the number of days taken by God to create the earth according to the Genesis creation narrative. And when I see the nine, I think of the lepers our saviour cleansed, and that nine of the ten didn't even thank him It has also been known as "Cards Spiritualised" and "The Soldier's Almanac, Bible And Prayer Book". Bygraves was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2010, and he died from complications of this illness at his daughter's home in Hope Island, Queensland, Australia on the evening of 31 August 2012. [21] Television [ edit ]The soldier explained that he had been marching for six days without a Bible or prayer book, but he hoped to convince them with the sincerity of his intentions In August 1946, he toured in a variety show with Frankie Howerd, [6] who in turn introduced him to Eric Sykes, and they began writing routines together. With Sykes, he also developed the radio show Educating Archie, starring ventriloquist Peter Brough and his dummy Archie Andrews, and featuring Bygraves in the role of Archie's teacher. The idea for the programme came from record producer Wally Ridley, who produced Bygraves' records during the 1950s. [7] The "TEN", was reminded us that out ten commandments, were ten stupid rules that only Capitalistic fools believed in.
